What is included in a complete servicing of An Automatic Watch?

The proper inspection of your automatic watch requires a complete disassembly and inspection of every part of the timepiece. Our watchmakers must evaluate the necessary repairs, required parts, and their availability, as well as the cost of fabrication. We use genuine factory parts when available by the factory. If you are looking for a list of factory parts we can service please head Here.

Manual and Automatic Winding Watches

  1. Includes many types of automatic watches that require movement to continue running.
  1. All manually wound watches need to be fully wound at least once a day. Wind the watch gently until you feel it stop. NEVER force the crown, when winding or setting.
  1.  All automatic watches (watches that wind from the motion of the wrist) must be worn actively at least 12 hours/day. If you do not wear the watch, it does not wind. If the watch runs down, it must be wound or worn until it runs and then set to the correct time.
  1. Some popular automatic watch types include Omega and Rolex. If you have any questions feel free to ask us for help.

Before any service we do Repair Estimates:

Our watchmakers require an estimate to be performed. Our customers must pay an estimate fee before an estimate is begun. This is due to the extensive labor and time required as our watchmaker examines each piece of the watch and movement to give an accurate analysis of the condition of the watch and parts availability.  In these cases, when you approve the repair/restoration then we will credit the estimate fee to the repair cost. Once our watchmaker has completed the estimate then we will e-mail, fax, phone or mail a copy to you (depending on your preference) for your approval. Estimates generally take one to two days to complete, they can take longer for older vintage watches due to parts availability.

Estimate fees are non-refundable

For our customers that want to know a ballpark cost before the estimate, we perform evaluations. With this, we will examine the watch without disassembling the movement, and look at the watch and give you a cost range that the repair should fall into. If this cost range fits into your expectations then we will perform the full estimate and let you know the exact cost. Estimates may be more or less once completed. Evaluations are no-charge.
