Can you repair my antique timepiece?

The restoration of antique timepieces is complicated because parts are scarce or not available. Furthermore, these watches are old, likely one of a kind and fragile. In addition, antique watches require special handling and care. These watches often have unique setting mechanisms or seriously complicated movements. That being said we have handled a number of cases and we are sure we can likely help you.

What is included in a overhaul?

Antique timepiece servicing requires complete disassembly, inspection, cleaning and oiling along with careful adjustment. That is what we call an overhaul service. Antique timepiece restoration requires the skills of a master watchmaker. Our AWCI 21st Century certified master watchmaker has the experience to restore these classics to full operation.

What about antique pocket watches?

We have worked on many pocket watches from ages past. More common types include Hamilton or Waltham pocket watches. In addition, we have even worked on more unique pieces that are literally one of a kind. We can restore almost any antique watch. How difficult the process, the amount of time it takes, and the cost of labor will of course vary.

What happens when parts are not available?

Masterpiece Watch Restoration watchmakers have a complete set of tools for antique timepiece restoration services. Our master watchmaker uses a computer-aided device/computer-aided machine (CAD/CAM) to make new parts from scratch for antique timepieces. This process is time consuming and expensive, however, for watches that have great sentimental value it is worth the cost. Below are pictures of two classic antique watches we have restored.
