Repair Estimates |
Watch repair and restorations require an estimate to be performed prior to any work being approved or performed. An estimate fee must be paid before an estimate is begun. This is due to the extensive labor and time required as our watchmaker examines each piece of the watch and movement to give an accurate analysis of the condition of the watch. Please refer to our price guides to determine the estimate fee for your particular watch. In these cases, when you approve the repair/restoration then we will credit the estimate fee to the repair cost. Once our watchmaker has completed the estimate then we will e-mail, fax or mail a copy to you (depending on your preference) for your approval. Estimates are usually completed within one day though older models may take longer so that we can investigate parts availability. Estimate Fees are non-refundable. | |

Approved
Work |
When the work is approved and an anticipated completion date is scheduled and a deposit of one half of the total cost is requested before work can begin. The time required to complete the work depends on many variables. Modern watches and watches where replacement parts are readily available, require less time to repair. Back orders by the suppliers is out of our control and we will make every attempt to keep this time to a minimum. Watches requiring fabrication of parts will demand a greater amount of time to complete. Note : We do not repair Counterfeit Rolex watches. We will not supply Genuine Rolex parts for use on any Rolex watch that has been altered with after market accessories such as bezels and dials. | |

Payment Options |
Estimate fees must
be paid for in advance unless prior arrangements have been made with Masterpiece
Watch Restoration. This fee is non-refundable and will be credited to the
cost of the repair when the estimate is approved.
You will be contacted once your repair is complete and the accuracy of your watch is being tested and observed. At this time we will invoice you for the remainder of the repair. Your watch will be returned to you upon receipt of the final payment and the watch has completed the testing process. We accept personal and business checks, Pay pal as well as MC, Visa & Discover cards for your convenience. All payments must be in US Funds. |

Shipping |
|
The charge for return
postage, insurance and handling, is $25.00. This fee is added on to the
cost of the repair and covers all watches up to $5,000.00 in value. (watches
valued more that $5,000.00 will be shipped at a slightly higher rate to
cover additional insurance costs ) (International rates vary by country)
Our preferred method to ship your repaired watch back to you is via US
Post Office utilizing their Postal Registered Mail
Service. We have found that this is the most secure and reliable method
for shipment over the years. If you would like us to return your watch to a
special location or through a special carrier then please notify us and
we will be happy to meet your preference (Extra fees may apply depending
on the carrier).
Please do not attempt to send a package via UPS or Fed Ex etc. to our PO Box address. If this is your preferred method of shipment then please call in advance for the physical address where shipments can be accepted. Please properly pack your watch to keep the watch free from movement and damage during shipment. We are not responsible for damage done to the watch in transit to Masterpiece Watch. Please do not include original boxes or papers. |

No shipping or any other extra charges added to the repairs. This is our first satellite location out of our shop so we want to pass on the savings to you our loyal customers.

Minimum Charges |
|
Our minimum charge for any repairs or servicing we undertake is $100.00 plus the cost of return shipping. Please keep this in mind when you send us your watch.

Water Damage |
|
Most water resistant watches cannot be relied upon to keep water out under all conditions, even when new. Some manufacturers design watches to be pressure proof i.e. divers watches and Rolex® Oyster watches. These watches require that they be serviced regularly, in good condition and that the crowns be properly secured before submersion. After repairing a water resistant watch we will test the watch statically, utilizing the same equipment as most manufacturers. If a water resistant watch gets water inside, it will not dry out on its own. Even a very small amount of moisture, once trapped inside, will cause damage. If there is visible moisture, it will usually condense on the crystal only when the watch is worn, this is due to the warmth of the arm. Moisture should be removed immediately. Trapped moisture must be removed to avoid costly damage to your watch. |

Water
Resistance |
Many watches claim to be water resistant to certain depths. This can be misleading. Unless your watch was designed for service under water, it is not considered reliably water resistant. We can only guarantee watches to be submersible if they are reliably water resistant and have been pressure tested by us within the last 6 months and the watch case and crystal are undamaged. Be sure the crown is screwed down tight every time you take your watch underwater. We use state of the art equipment to adjust and test your Rolex according to Rolex Standards and Procedures to attain the highest level of accuracy possible. On the right is our Roxer 125 which allows us to perform a water test on your watch down to a depth of 125 bars ( 1,250 meters or about 41,000 feet). The Roxer 125 allows us to confirm the water resistance on diving watches such as the Sea dweller. |

| Manual and Automatic Winding Watches |
1. All manually
wound watches need to be fully wound at least once a day. 2. All automatic
watches (watches that wind from the motion of the wrist) must be worn
with adequate actively at least 12 hrs/day. | |

| Warranty |
|
We completely warranty all of our replaced or fabricated parts and labor. If a watch is returned to us with any defect that is the result of the manner in which it was repaired, we will correct the situation immediately. We will prioritize your watch repair and return it to the customer at no charge. Shipping costs to us are the responsibility of the customer. The warranty period is for one year from the completion date of the original repair. Our warranty on modern watches and to some extent on vintage watches includes the installation of parts, not previously replaced, that fail during the warranty period. There would be a charge for the part but we will install and test the new part at no charge to you. Some part failures are virtually impossible to anticipate. This does not include parts that may fail as a result of rust or abuse, such as, a broken balance staff or broken crystal. The owner must accept responsibility for their part. This is especially true when it comes to water damage. We do not cover water damage to any watch unless it is to a reliably water resistant watch and that damage is caused by a direct result of a failure on our part. |

Rolex Premium Service For our most demanding customers we offer a grade above the normal factory service. For a few dollars more we will examine and replace if needed parts that incur normal wear but are not normally replaced unless completely worn out. Over the years these parts are subject to wear. In order to restore the original level of accuracy, we would recommend replacing them. We will extend the testing period to 1 month to ensure accuracy and reliability and will send you the results in writing. Finally, we will double the warranty to two years. Again, only genuine Rolex parts would be used as well. | |
