Fusee Watch Repair

Fusee Watch Repair involves the careful handling of very old watches. These watches were the first type of mechanical watches. Some of them are well over three hundred years old. These watches typically use a tiny chain wound around a tapered spool (Fusee) to transfer power evenly as the mainspring winds down. This allows for steady timekeeping.

Some customers enjoy using these old watches even today. While there is some risk in using an antique watch on a regular basis, there is also a huge satisfaction and joy to experience a watch that still keeps time as it did hundreds of years ago.

Many Fusee watches are beautifully made with Precious Metals, Enamel, Jewels, and Pearls such as the ones shown here. These watches should be handled with care by a specialist.

Making a comprehensive list of all the types or brands of watches that we will accept for repair seems almost impossible. It is better for us to mention the things that we will not do. There is one miracle that cannot be performed. The inexpensive repair of a quality timepiece is a hopeless endeavor. Many have attempted to work such magic for their customers and in the process have done substantial injustice and harm to the watch.
