The Elgin National Watch Company, most commonly known as just the Elgin Watch company, was a major US watch maker from 1864 until its closure in 1968. The company sold watches under the names, Elgin, Lord Elgin, and Lady Elgin.
For nearly 100 years the company's manufacturing complex in Elgin was the largest site dedicated to watchmaking in the world.
Regular Service :
Designed to meet the manufacturers requirements for proper maintenance. As your Elgin watch ages the gaskets, setting crown and crystal will wear down over time, under normal circumstances. Your watch is left vulnerable to the effects of moisture, perspiration, temperature changes, dust and normal body movements.
Emergency Service :
Emergency medicine for broken, damaged or leaking watches. Complete disassembly of the watch movement and close inspection of all parts for wear and damage. Replacement of any parts necessary. Clean the movement, chemically, ultrasonically and manually. Reassemble, adjust and test the movement.
Performance Service :
Designed to match or exceed the original accuracy and performance as well as maintaining that accuracy for an extended period. In addition to a test on an electronic timing machine, actual performance of the watch must be observed over a period of several days. It is important that you inform the watchmaker of your wearing habits so that your watch can be adjusted accordingly.

1. All manually
wound watches need to be fully wound at least once a day.
Wind the watch gently until you feel it stop. NEVER force the crown, when winding or setting.
2. All automatic
watches (watches that wind from the motion of the wrist) must be worn
actively at least 12 hours/day.
If you do not wear the watch, it does not wind. If the watch runs down, it must be wound or worn until it runs and then set to the correct time.
